2023 Clean Up Dates

Welcome to 2023!!!

It’s time once again to plan those summer events.

The Friends of the South Fork Kings River once again invites you to join us for our 20th Anniversary, Annual Litter Clean-Up Events, along the eastern terminus of California Highway 180 and South Fork of the Kings River.

In Association with:
Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park Service
– National Forest Service (Sequoia & Sierra)
Caltrans District 6

Check the National Park Website for current road & weather conditions.

To purchase your park entrance pass in advance, or campsite reservations check out the recreation.gov website.

This year the South Fork Kings River Clean-Up events are planned for Saturdays May 6th, June 3rd, July 8th, August 5th, September 9th, October 7th, & November 11th.  These dates may be subject to change due to COVID restrictions and road/weather conditions, but we’re going to try.

UPDATE: Due to CA-180 remaining closed for the season according to CalTrans District 6 and the Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park Service, the litter Clean-Ups have been moved to the Hume Lake Campgrounds. Meet at site #10, if you arrive Thursday, Friday or Sat before 8:30 am – 9:00 am at the day use site near the campground on the lake. We will be back at Hume Lake on these dates… July 8, Aug. 5, and Sept 9… some of us will arrive on the Thursday before and leaving the Sunday after! You can try to grab a site of your own choice on Recreation.gov and/or let me know and I can try to get extra sites.
